Expanding Your Online Coversion Rate

In the last few blog posts we have been talking about online conversion rate. I found several websites that expand on making the most of your website conversions.

Conversion Rates Start With Your Target Market

As we have said before, conversion rates start with targeting your potential customer. At Business2Community.com, J.C. Kendall gives you the perfect description of What SEO Is:

“Search Engine Optimization is the practice of helping YOUR potential customers find YOU-through the various online search engines, such as Google, Bing or Yahoo. That is it, period. Sure there are technical things involved in making it happen, but more and more, it appears that many are losing site of the goal, which is a stronger web presence for your business, and a more accurate and relevant set of Search Results for the person looking for what you have to offer.

Search Engine Optimization is NOT a numbers game, where you focus on bringing as many persons to your site as possible, in the hope that some of them will appreciate or need what you are offering.  That is called “Shotgun Marketing”- Blasting pellets at the masses hoping to hit some of them. That is what they do over at Facebook, and frankly it is a sucky way of doing business, because you simply cannot measure your effectiveness, or tweak your efforts for more effective or efficient results.

In a world of billions of individuals, I guarantee you, that there is SOMEONE out there who wants what you are offering. Your marketing efforts are about finding them, and helping them find YOU. It is ridiculous and wasteful to put masses through a sieve hoping to strain out those few who happen to fall into your funnel.  If you do not know who your target customer is, then there is no amount of SEO, and no formula that can or will improve your business.”

Your Coversion Rate and The Power of Choice

You work hard and pay a lot of money to have your Website and videos rank well with the search engines…but all that hard work can go down the drain quickly if you have not optimized your website to convert searchers in to readers and into buyers. What is online conversion rate?

The Power of Choice

Getting your readers to take action is a lot like raising kids.

Teaching kids to take right actions comes with the responsibility of teaching them the power of choice.

Years ago I remember someone suggesting that giving children choices taught them responsibility and gave them power over life. The key was to start when they are small and make choices simple.

For example, my 3 year old daughter would choose what vegetable we would have for dinner. I would make it simple, “Should we have peas or cabbage for dinner?” By limiting the choices I had control, yet she would have choice.

Your website gives you control and you can limit the choices to exactly what you want your readers to do.

WordPress Your Content Management System (CMS)

CMS stands for Content Management System

CMS  is a way for the average person to create and manage a website. WordPress is more than a way to blog. It is the best way to have any type of website you desire.

Some of the biggest companies in the world use WordPress for their serious projects; Ebay, Yahoo, GE, CNN, Ford, Sony and Samsung, to name a few.

By nature, WordPress is very powerful. It can be as complex or as simple as you wish.

What can WordPress do for you? Or should that be… what you can do with WordPress

The Value of A Long Tail Keyword Search

More often than not it is hard to convince a client the value of long tail keywords. It is not hard to understand when when your only consider search volume. For example:

Generic Search Terms vs Long Tail Keywords

According to Google:

  • “playgrounds” has 823,000 queries a month
  • “backyard playgrounds has 5,400 monthly queries
  • “backyard playground equipment” only has 1,900 searches
  • “playground equipment for sale” has 2,900 monthly searches

So if you wanted to narrow down and draw buyers to your site, which keyword would you use?

Their is much more to this game than search volume.

New Utah Web Design for Mobile Phones

As a Utah web design team we focus on websites for local business. About a year ago we met  Dave Tuomitso owner of one of our favorite Orem restaurants, Milagros Mexican Food.

We introduced Dave to a mobile phone site immediately he could see the value and it has paid off for him. In fact cell phone users search for Milagros 4 times more than desktop users. Also his videos are viewed more from cell phones than from a desk top. These searches and views are up 26% from last year at this time.

Now I could get into all the reasons for choosing a Mobile website over responsive design, like SEO, conversions and giving the cell phone user exactly what he wants: Mobile Marketing. But this article is to show you the new Utah web design we did for Dave’s son Jackson Danger.

Your Web Design vs SEO: The Battle Rages On

I am often amazed at how many times we loose a potential client when we point to their website as the place to start with SEO.

The Two Sides duh!

SEO: There is no doubt that SEO can bring targeted traffic to your site.

Website Design: And your website design has to convert! Will visitor take the action you want?

But the site has to have a strong SEO foundation in order for a Good SEO campaign to work. We like to say, “Your Site Is More Than A Pretty Face.”

“While SEO is an important channel, the ROI that can come from improving customer conversion rates on your website can’t be beat — assuming you actually have people coming to your website in the first place.

Most SMB websites start from such a low bar that simple upgrades can have a dramatic impact on conversion with considerably less risk than competitive marketing programs like SEO and SEM.” Andrew Shotland Read More→

Make Your Google Plus Your Easy Social Media

google-plus-logo-2013My true confession…I hate social media because it is soooo time consuming and learning something new is about the last thing I want to add to my list. No matter what social media you choose there is a learning curve to make the most of the platform. And social media takes time once it is set up,  remember is is Social Media.

With that said, all of my social media has to be easy to use and update and bring a return on my investment.

Google + fits that criteria. Besides that…you no longer have a choice if you want to make the most of Google and YouTube search.

Google + Has Become a Must… an Absolute Must

It has gotten to the point that you can not get by with out setting up your G+ account. It is the gate way to: Read More→

Local Business: Do Online Reviews Matter?

The other day, while discussing Google Places, we had a client ask just how important online reviews are for his local business. I have seen statistics that say they are important and it is logical that opinions are showing up everywhere on the net: from news media, social media to numerous review sites.

Since you may have the same question for you local business I want to share the information this solid information I found from Nielson Wire.

“According to Nielsen’s latest Global Trust in Advertising report, which surveyed more than 28,000 Internet respondents in 56 countries, 92 percent of consumers around the world say they trust earned media, such as recommendations from friends and family, above all other forms of advertising—an increase of 18 percent since 2007. Online consumer reviews are the second most trusted source of brand information and messaging, with 70 percent of global consumers surveyed online indicating they trust messages on this platform, an increase of 15 percent in four years.” Read More→
